About Us

Ride In - Ride Out started with a simple idea: create a place in Old Fort that we would want to stay ourselves.

Through Hey Old Friend, we began restoring and operating a small collection of homes along Mill Creek - places where you can wake up, grab your bike, and head straight toward some of the best riding in Pisgah National Forest. Along the way, we fell even more in love with Old Fort, the Grandfather Ranger District, and the community of riders, builders, businesses, and locals who make this place special.

We’re building this site to be more than a place to book a house. We want it to become a trusted resource for exploring the trails around Old Fort and the Grandfather District - complete with trail reviews, route ideas, photos, videos, local knowledge, events, stories, and the kind of details you usually only learn after spending a lot of time here.

We ride these trails. We explore the forest. We support the local businesses. We host events like the Pisgah Pedal Party. And we’re constantly discovering new reasons to love this corner of Western North Carolina.

Our goal is pretty simple: help people have an incredible time here - and help build an even stronger community around the trails.
